How do you get a job when you don’t have experience? How do you get experience when you don’t have a job?  There are a variety of ways to gain experience!

Internships

Internships are a fabulous way to gain valuable experience you can put on your resume!  C-TEC Youth Services works closely with businesses and organizations all over Clackamas County to provide meaningful internship opportunities.  Internships are individualized to meet the needs of both the intern as well as the placement site, and provide a chance to also gain college credits.  We’ll help you to prepare for the internship so you are ready for a great experience, and we’ll be there along the way to help provide feedback and  trouble shoot any issues that may arise. What are you waiting for?

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships offer an excellent opportunity to earn money while learning a valuable skill and hands-on experience.  Usually comprised of classroom learning combined with on-the-job experience, apprenticeships are a great doorway into a satisfying career. Since apprenticeship programs can be pretty competitive, C-TEC Youth Services will help you prepare, connect with any Pre-Apprenticeship programs, and complete extra activities that will help increase your chances of being selected.  Check out Oregon Apprenticeship.

Volunteering

What are you interested in? What are you passionate about?  There are tons of volunteer opportunities!  It’s a great way to try out different career interests plus do something good in the community.  It’s all great experience to include on your resume.  Get started volunteering!
